Throstle Nest Riding School is a small family run long established centre (over 30 years) so we care about our riders as well as our horses and ponies. We are usually open 7 days a week, catering for riders of all levels of ability and confidence, from age 4 and above, there is a weight limit of 14 stone though.

We are British Horse Society Approval, as well as being licensed by Bradford Council, entailing annual inspections/checks.

Throstle Nest Riding for the Disabled Group is based at the riding school offering both group and individual sessions for children and adults. We offer lessons for beginner riders, returning riders, riders who wish to jump or learn about dressage, riders who want to have fun or just go for a hack. There is an outdoor arena (20m x 40m), a jumping paddock and a cross country course with fences ranging from 12 inches to 3 foot high.

We regularly hold competitions for our riders, eg. gymkhanas, showjumping, cross country, handy pony, dressage, one day events, hunter trials, shows etc. We also run BHS road saftey exams and training. We also go out to external events. As well as all the regular lessons, hacks, day courses, stable managements etc. So there is always lots going on!

We have general riding lessons and hacks for adults and children over 4 years. Beginners start with half hour semi private lessons, progressing to hour classes once they have mastered rising trot and steering at the same time! We also do private lessons and lunge lessons.
